Sundarbans Bird Expedition: 153 Species and 31,927 Birds Recorded
Imagine a bird watching trip in a big forest called the Sundarbans!
Scientists went there and counted lots of birds.
They found 153 different kinds of birds, and they saw over 31,000 birds in total.
Some of these birds fly from far away places every year.
This trip helps scientists know which birds are in danger and where they like to live.
They discovered that some birds like hanging out in areas that aren't protected as much.
This means these spots need extra care to keep the birds safe and healthy!
A bird expedition in the Sundarbans recorded 153 species and 31,927 birds.
The third Sundarbans Bird Festival took place from January 22 to 26.
Teams of photographers covered different routes in the delta by boat.
13 threatened bird species were recorded during the expedition.
More birds were sighted in non-protected areas than in protected areas, for certain species.
