Bumrah Cleared for Sri Lanka Test Series
India’s star fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, had an injury during England’s ODI series and missed a game.
The BCCI’s Centre of Excellence checked him and said he’s fit to play.
He will join India for two Test matches in Sri Lanka that start on August 15.
These games are very important because India needs to win most of their remaining matches to stay in the World Test Championship final.
Bumrah’s return is a big help because other Indian bowlers are also injured.
India hopes to win both games in Sri Lanka before heading to New Zealand for more Tests.
Jasprit Bumrah cleared fitness tests by BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, enabling his participation in India’s two-Test series against Sri Lanka.
The series starts on August 15 in Galle, with the second match in Colombo on August 23.
Bumrah’s return is crucial as India needs seven wins from nine remaining World Test Championship matches to stay in contention for the final.
India is also dealing with injuries to Harshit Rana, Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar, and Akash Deep, making Bumrah’s availability timely.
The two-Test series is seen as a key opportunity for India to secure a 2‑0 clean sweep before facing New Zealand.
