Taiwan, US discuss tech, AI and drone cooperation
Taiwan and the United States had a meeting to talk about working together on important technologies like artificial intelligence, drones, and semiconductors.
They signed agreements to make sure these technologies are safe and to help each other's economies.
The U.S. thinks Taiwan is a very important partner in these areas.
They also talked about how to make it easier for businesses to invest in each other's countries.
China doesn't like these meetings because it claims Taiwan is part of China, but Taiwan says it should decide its own future.
They also made a deal to lower taxes on some of Taiwan's exports to the U.S.
Senior Taiwanese and U.S. officials discussed cooperation in AI, tech, and drones at a high-level forum.
The U.S. State Department praised Taiwan as a 'vital partner' in economic initiatives.
Agreements were signed on the Pax Silica Declaration and economic security cooperation.
Discussions included supply chain security, drone components, and critical minerals.
