Karnataka CM Invites Tamil Nadu CM to Cauvery Survey
Karnataka’s chief minister, D.K. Shivakumar, asked Tamil Nadu’s chief minister, Joseph Vijay, to visit the Cauvery river area in Karnataka.
He wants Vijay to see how much water is left after a dry season.
Karnataka also plans to ask a higher court to stop a rule that says it must give water to Tamil Nadu.
A union minister said the rule is unfair to Karnataka.
The two leaders will meet to talk about the water problem.
Karnataka CM D.K. Shivakumar invites Tamil Nadu CM Joseph Vijay to a helicopter tour of the Cauvery basin.
Karnataka plans to file an appeal against the CWRC order directing it to release 3,500 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu for 15 days.
The CWRC order was issued after a deficit rainfall season, but Karnataka argues it is unscientific and threatens its own water supply.
Union Minister H.D. Kumarswamy criticized the CWRC direction, calling it a "death warrant" for Karnataka.
A high‑level meeting with legal experts and the Advocate General has been held to prepare the appeal to the CWMA.
