Pune Residents Demand Road Parity After Grand Tour Success
After a big bike race in Pune, people noticed that the roads used for the race were very smooth.
Now, they want the same smooth roads everywhere in the city.
Some roads have bumpy parts called drainage chambers that can cause accidents and damage cars.
The city government has promised to fix about 10,000 of these bumpy parts by the end of March.
People are happy that the government can make good roads and want all roads to be safe and smooth like the ones used in the bike race.
Pune residents are demanding that the smooth roads used for the Pune Grand Tour cycling event be extended to other city roads.
Uneven drainage chambers are causing accidents, traffic disruptions, and vehicle damage.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has set a March-end deadline to level around 10,000 stormwater chambers across the city.
A new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) proved successful during the cycling event and will be used for this task.
Residents, like Chaitali Netake from Karve Nagar, are highlighting the disparity between the smooth cycling route and the uneven parallel roads.
