Festival at The Steps Begins in Bandra
The 'Festival at The Steps' is a special event happening in Bandra, Mumbai.
It started on a Saturday at the beautiful St Stephen's Steps, which were fixed up by the community and the city government.
The festival will have music, dance, art, and workshops every Saturday until February 2026.
It's a great example of how people can work together to make their city better.
The steps used to be messy and neglected, but now they are a place where everyone can enjoy performances and activities for free.
Many local people are involved, showing that the community really cares about this space.
The festival is organized by several groups and has support from the local government.
The 6th annual 'Festival at The Steps' began on Saturday at the restored St Stephen's Steps in Bandra, Mumbai.
The festival features art, dance, installations, workshops, and performances and will run every Saturday till February 7, 2026.
The event is a model of community-led urban regeneration, transforming a derelict space into a multi-use public area.
The restoration project started in 2017 with support from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and local community groups.
The festival is organized by Bombay Greenway, Love Your Parks Mumbai, Arts By The Bay, Haribhau Vishwanath Musical Industries, and local ALMs, with strong community participation.
