Telangana to Enact Lift Safety Bill
The Telangana government is about to pass a new law called the Telangana Lifts, Escalators and Moving Walks Act, 2025.
This law is being made because there have been many accidents with lifts in the state.
The High Court told the government to make this law to keep people safe.
The law will make sure that all lifts and escalators are registered, meet safety standards, and are checked every year.
It will also make sure that only trained people can fix them.
The government says the law will be ready in about six months.
The Telangana Elevators Association is happy about the law but wants the government to lower the tax on lifts to 18%.
