India Gears Up for Tech Leadership at IEEE Future Networks World Forum
Imagine India wants to be a super-smart country in technology by the year 2047!
To help this happen, important people gathered in a big meeting called the IEEE Future Networks World Forum.
One leader, Dr. Karandikar, said India is investing a lot of money to help scientists invent new things, like in AI and quantum computers.
India is already good at writing science papers and has many new companies starting up.
Another very important person, Vinton Cerf, who helped create the internet, warned that as more people get online, it's super important to make sure the internet and other networks are safe and don't break easily.
They talked about making networks stronger, faster, and reaching even more people, especially those who don't have good internet yet.
It was all about making India a leader in technology while also ensuring technology works for everyone and is very dependable.
India aims to be a self-reliant, future-ready, and globally influential nation in science and technology by 2047, with significant investments in research and innovation.
Discussions at the IEEE Future Networks World Forum highlighted India's progress in research output, patent filings, and its position as the world's third-largest startup ecosystem.
Key national initiatives like the Anusandhan National Research Foundation, National Quantum Mission, and National Mission on Cyber-Physical Systems are driving technological development.
Internet pioneer Vinton Cerf emphasized the need for resilient and secure networking infrastructure due to increasing dependence and potential disruptions.
The forum also focused on advancing connectivity towards 6G and bridging the digital divide through initiatives like the IEEE Connect the Unconnected program.
