Karnataka Government Considers Rs 4-5 Nandini Milk Price Hike

Karnataka Government Considers Rs 4-5 Nandini Milk Price Hike

Milk farmers in Karnataka want more money for the milk they sell.

They say cattle feed, fodder, medicines and other costs have become more expensive.

The state’s milk unions asked for a price increase of Rs 8 to Rs 10 per litre.

The government is considering a smaller increase of about Rs 4 to Rs 5 per litre.

Some of the extra money may go to farmers and some to cooperative unions.

The proposed share is 70% for milk producers and 30% for the unions.

The government is also thinking about how the increase could affect families buying milk.

Until an official order is issued, the current price will remain unchanged.
