Swiggy Q1FY27: Loss Narrows, Revenue Rises, Instamart Breaks Even
Swiggy, a big food‑delivery company in India, made a smaller loss in its first quarter of fiscal year 2027 compared to last year.
It earned more money, about 6,800 crore rupees, because more people ordered food.
A part of its business, Instamart, finally stopped losing money on the amount it spends to get food to customers, but it still lost money overall.
Swiggy also ran a new app called Toing, but it was not making money yet.
The company has a lot of cash on hand, but it spent more this quarter than before.
Swiggy’s owners in India now own half of the company for the first time.
Swiggy posted a Q1FY27 net loss of Rs 791 crore, down from Rs 1,197 crore a year earlier.
Revenue climbed 28.66% YoY to Rs 6,812 crore, with food delivery GOV up 17.4% to Rs 9,490 crore.
Instamart achieved contribution‑margin break‑even in May 2026, though it still posted a Rs 778 crore loss.
The Platform Innovations segment, including Toing and Snacc, saw losses double to Rs 131 crore, and Snacc was shut down.
Swiggy’s cash balance fell to Rs 14,367 crore, and its domestic ownership crossed 50% for the first time.
