Kempegowda Airport Defers Overstay Charges Amid IndiGo Disruptions
The Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru was supposed to start charging cars that stay too long at the terminals.
They planned to give 8 minutes for free, then charge Rs 150 for staying 8-13 minutes, and Rs 300 for 13-18 minutes.
If a car stays longer than 18 minutes, it might even get towed.
But because of problems with IndiGo flights all over India, the airport decided to delay these new rules.
This gives people more time to adjust without extra charges.
Kempegowda International Airport deferred overstay charges for vehicles at Terminals 1 and 2.
The charges were supposed to start on Monday but were postponed due to IndiGo's flight disruptions.
Vehicles would have been charged Rs 150 for staying 8-13 minutes and Rs 300 for 13-18 minutes.
Vehicles staying beyond 18 minutes would have been towed to the nearest police station.
The airport offers 8 minutes of free parking in the designated zones.
