Activist Raises Alleged PoJK Civilian Killings and Blackout at UNHRC

Jamil Maqsood spoke to the United Nations Human Rights Council about problems in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said more than 100 civilians had reportedly been killed.

He also said many people were detained and some bodies could not be found.

Maqsood accused Pakistani security forces of using excessive force.

He said homes and other private property were damaged or looted.

He also said internet and mobile phone services had been shut down.

According to him, the blackout made it harder to get emergency help, food and medicine.

He asked for an independent investigation and for communications to be restored.
