Deutsche Bank's India Retail Assets Draw Final Bids

Deutsche Bank's India Retail Assets Draw Final Bids

Deutsche Bank is selling its retail assets and wealth management business in India.

Two big banks, Kotak Mahindra and Federal Bank, have made final offers to buy these assets, which are worth about $2.5 billion.

Another bank, Emirates NBD, was interested but decided not to bid.

Deutsche Bank wants to focus more on helping big companies and less on regular banking services.

Kotak and Federal Bank want to grow their businesses in India, where more people are saving money and banks are expanding.

If Kotak buys these assets, it will become even stronger in wealth management.

Federal Bank, with help from a big investment company called Blackstone, wants to become a bigger player in the country.

Both deals could still not happen, but they show that Indian banks are growing and foreign banks are changing their focus.
