Tamil Nadu CM and Ministers Boycott Governor's Events
The leader of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, is skipping the Independence Day party held by the Governor, R.N. Ravi.
The Higher Education Minister is also skipping university events.
This is due to disagreements with the Governor, who the state government says acts against Tamil Nadu's interests.
Other political parties are also joining the boycott, including Congress and Left parties.
This reflects continued tensions between the state government and the Governor, particularly regarding actions perceived as delaying legislation and supporting opposing political viewpoints.
Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin will not attend the Independence Day tea party hosted by Governor R.N. Ravi.
Higher Education Minister Govi Chezhian will boycott two university convocation ceremonies.
The boycotts are a protest against Governor Ravi's actions, perceived as against the interests of Tamil Nadu.
The state government alleges the Governor voices opinions against the interests of Tamil Nadu people.
Allies of the DMK, including the Congress and Left parties, will also boycott the tea party.
