No Special Parliament Session for Women's Reservation, Delimitation Bills

Parliament is a big meeting place where India's leaders make laws.

Some people guessed that a special meeting of Parliament might happen soon to talk about two bills.

One bill would give women 33 percent of the seats, meaning about one out of every three seats, in law-making houses.

Another bill would make the Lok Sabha bigger, up to 816 seats in total.

But a minister named Kiren Rijiju said there is no plan for a special meeting from August 16 to 18.

The government is still trying to pass these bills during the current meeting session.

The minister met a leader from the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi, to ask for his support, but he did not promise anything yet.

A similar try a few months ago did not work because not enough leaders said yes.

So for now, the two bills are still waiting to be agreed on by Parliament.
