Karnataka Prioritizes Sustainable Development, Expands Green Cover
The Karnataka government wants to make sure the state grows in a way that is good for the environment and doesn't hurt future generations.
The Minister of Forests, Eshwar B. Khandre, is worried that Bengaluru doesn't have enough trees.
He wants to create new parks to make the city greener, including a large park near Yelahanka and converting old land.
The goal is to balance progress with protecting nature, similar to how Lalbagh and Cubbon Park were created long ago.
The government also plans to use money from businesses and other sources to help protect forests and the environment.
Karnataka's Minister for Forest, Ecology, and Environment, Eshwar B. Khandre, emphasized sustainable development.
The minister highlighted the need to balance modernization, economic progress, and environmental conservation.
Khandre expressed concern over Bengaluru's low green cover, aiming to prevent it from becoming like Delhi.
Plans include a 153-acre biodiversity park in Madappanahalli and converting unused HMT land into a park.
