Bihar Voter Roll Update: EC Shares Data with Parties
The Election Commission in Bihar is working on updating its voter lists.
They're giving lists of voters who may have moved or died to political parties to double-check.
They found that many voters weren't at their addresses, and a lot of people haven't sent in their forms.
The EC wants to make sure everyone who should be able to vote is on the list.
People can suggest changes to the draft list, and the final list will be ready at the end of September.
EC is sharing lists of possibly deceased or shifted voters with political parties.
Over 41 lakh electors have not yet returned enumeration forms.
Approximately 36.87 lakh voters were not found at their addresses during the revision.
The ECI's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll continues.
The draft electoral roll will be published August 1; the final roll on September 30.
