Delhi Teachers Face Extra SIR Election Duty Before Midterms

Delhi Teachers Face Extra SIR Election Duty Before Midterms

Some Delhi teachers have been given an extra election-related job.

They are working as Booth Level Officers during a Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

This means they must help with work connected to updating voter lists.

At the same time, their schools are preparing for mid-term exams.

The teachers say they are being called repeatedly for election duties.

They worry this leaves less time and energy for teaching and exam preparation.

Their normal school responsibilities have not gone away.

The issue is about managing two important jobs at once.
