Stalin: Katchatheevu Retrieval is Key for Fishermen's Woes
Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister, MK Stalin, says the only way to fix the problems faced by fishermen is to get Katchatheevu back from Sri Lanka.
This is because the Sri Lankan Navy has been arresting fishermen and seizing their boats.
The government has been helping by speaking to the Prime Minister and giving money to boat owners.
Many fishermen have been let go, but some are still held, and many boats are still seized.
Tamil Nadu CM Stalin reiterated the need to retrieve Katchatheevu.
1,383 fishermen were apprehended by the Sri Lankan Navy in the last four years.
185 boats have been apprehended during the same period.
Stalin has written 76 letters to the PM regarding the issue.
Financial aid has been provided to boat owners.
