Maharashtra FDA Seizes ₹25 Lakh Goods, Suspends Five Licences

Maharashtra’s food safety department inspected many places that sell or prepare food.

These included hotels, restaurants and roadside eateries.

Officials found banned products, expired food and dirty conditions.

They seized goods worth about ₹25 lakh in total.

Five businesses had their licences suspended.

Some places were also sealed, and 10 people were arrested.

The department said it was working to make food safer under the “Safe Food, Safe Maharashtra” campaign.

It warned food sellers to keep food areas clean, control temperatures and prevent pests.
