Maharashtra Approves Rs 58,754 Crore Uttan-Virar Sea Link
The Maharashtra government has approved a big plan to build a sea link called the Uttan-Virar Sea Link.
This project will cost Rs 58,754.71 crore and will be 55.12 km long, including a 24.35 km sea link and 30.77 km of roads.
The MMRDA will build it in 60 months.
The government will give Rs 11,116.27 crore to help pay for it, including money for buying land and helping people who need to move.
The rest of the money will come from loans and other sources.
The sea link is important because it will make travel easier between Mumbai’s western suburbs and the Palghar region, where a new port is being built.
The government has also said that local areas need to update their plans to include this new road.
