Israel Responsible for Half of Journalists Killed in 2025

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) released a report saying that nearly half of all journalists killed in 2025 were killed by Israeli forces in Gaza.

A total of 67 journalists were killed worldwide this year, with 29 of them being Palestinian reporters.

The most deadly attack was on a hospital in Gaza, where five journalists were killed.

Since the start of the conflict in Gaza in October 2023, nearly 220 journalists have died, making Israel the biggest killer of journalists for three years in a row.

The report also mentioned that Mexico, Ukraine, and Sudan were among the most dangerous countries for journalists.

Additionally, 503 journalists were imprisoned worldwide as of December 1, 2025, with China, Russia, and Myanmar being the most repressive countries.
