Sensex Gains 166 Points, Nifty Surpasses 24,300 on Rally
On July 31, 2024, the two biggest stock market indexes in India, the Sensex and the Nifty, went up.
The Sensex added 166 points and the Nifty added 66 points.
This happened because many banks, car makers, and other big companies did well in their earnings reports.
Companies like Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, and Hyundai Motor India made a lot of money, which made investors happy.
Some technology companies, like TCS and Infosys, did not do as well, so their stocks fell.
Overall, the market had a good week, with the Nifty gaining more than 2.5% for the week, the best in almost four months.
BSE Sensex rose 166 points to 78,095, while NSE Nifty 50 climbed 66 points to 24,384.
Financial and automobile stocks, including Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, and Hyundai Motor India, drove the gains.
Reliance Industries and Jio Financial Services also closed higher, supporting the rally.
Information technology shares fell, with TCS, Infosys, and Wipro among the major laggards.
The week of July 27-31 saw the Nifty gain over 2.5%, its strongest weekly rise in nearly four months.
