Indore Trains 150 Aapda Mitra Volunteers Toward 900-Volunteer Goal

Indore has started a seven-day training course for emergency volunteers.

About 150 people are taking part in this second group.

The district wants to train 900 volunteers over time.

These volunteers are called Aapda Mitras.

They are learning how to give first aid and perform CPR.

They are also practicing evacuation, rescue, flood response and firefighting.

The training teaches them how to help people before professional rescue teams arrive.

They are even learning to build simple rafts and stretchers from everyday materials.
