Lovebirds Reimagises Indian Fashion Beyond Familiar Postcard Stereotypes

Lovebirds Reimagises Indian Fashion Beyond Familiar Postcard Stereotypes

Lovebirds is an Indian fashion label created by Gursi Singh and Amrita Khanna.

It showed a new collection at London Fashion Week.

Instead of using famous postcard images of India, the designers used familiar everyday objects.

These included old matchboxes, school charts, soap boxes, and painted photo backdrops.

One important design came from the old “Ideal Boy” school posters many children knew.

The designers also used traditional Indian fabrics and worked with printing artisans.

They made the clothes look modern, simple, and carefully crafted.

The collection presented Indian culture through personal memories rather than common stereotypes.
