BJP Alliance Talks Face Hurdles in Tamil Nadu
The BJP is trying to form an alliance with different political groups in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming elections.
They talked to O. Panneerselvam (OPS) and T.T.V. Dhinakaran, but both decided to wait until the Tamil month of Thai to make a decision.
Dhinakaran said his party, AMMK, will decide what's best for them without any outside help.
OPS's supporters are upset because they weren't allowed back into the AIADMK and want to team up with actor Vijay's party, TVK, instead.
The AIADMK, which is already talking to the BJP, said they will make a decision soon.
Meanwhile, Vijay from TVK accused the ruling DMK of allowing the BJP to gain influence in Tamil Nadu and claimed that the DMK is confused about their plans.
Vijay said the DMK is scared because TVK's public meetings were successful.
BJP's efforts to include OPS and AMMK in their alliance faced resistance.
OPS and Dhinakaran deferred their decision until the Tamil month of Thai.
Dhinakaran asserted that his party will decide its own fate without external influence.
OPS's supporters expressed anger over being denied re-entry into the AIADMK and preferred an alliance with TVK.
TVK's founder Vijay accused the DMK of allowing the BJP to gain influence in Tamil Nadu and claimed the DMK is scared of TVK's successful rallies.
