Chhattisgarh HC Directs CBI to Probe Funds Meant for Disabled
Imagine two centers in Chhattisgarh, India, that were supposed to help people with disabilities.
Someone thought that the money for these centers was being misused.
The High Court initially asked the CBI, which is like the FBI, to investigate in 2020.
Although this was stayed and sent back, the High Court has now told the CBI to restart their investigation into whether money was stolen from the centers.
It involves two centers: SRC and PRRC.
A lot of money may be involved.
The court wants the CBI to finish the investigation.
Chhattisgarh High Court directed CBI to resume its investigation into alleged misappropriation of funds.
The case involves the State Resource Centre (SRC) and Physical Referral Rehabilitation Centre (PRRC).
A PIL was filed in 2018, and the alleged corruption dates back to 2014.
The Supreme Court had previously set aside the High Court order.
