Flash Flood Buries Nepal Hamlet, Destroying Homes and Farmland

Flash Flood Buries Nepal Hamlet, Destroying Homes and Farmland

A very large flash flood struck a small village in Nepal.

Mud and debris covered many houses and roads.

Only seven houses are still standing, and some are partly buried.

The flood also destroyed farms, orchards, animals, and vehicles.

Many people moved to safer, higher ground.

Dwarka Nath Pyakuryal escaped with several family members, but his eldest daughter-in-law died.

Another resident, Sita, lost a daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

The survivors have almost nothing left and are trying to plan their next steps.
