MP Urges Central Funding for Kanaka Durga Temple Infrastructure
A member of parliament named Kesineni Sivanath asked the national government to give money to fix the Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada.
The temple gets about 50,000 visitors every day and more than 200,000 during festivals.
Right now the facilities are temporary and can be uncomfortable.
He wants a new parking lot, a waiting hall, better roads, and a ropeway to help people reach the hilltop.
He said that other famous temples like Varanasi and Ayodhya have similar projects that help tourists and keep the temples safe.
MP Kesineni Sivanath requested central financial aid for Kanaka Durga Temple infrastructure.
Temple attracts about 50,000 daily devotees, exceeding 200,000 during festivals.
Current facilities are temporary; proposed projects include multi‑level parking, waiting hall, and road improvements.
MP also seeks approval for a ropeway under the Parvat Mala scheme to aid senior and differently‑abled pilgrims.
He cited examples of Varanasi and Ayodhya to argue for heritage preservation and tourism boost.
