Stride Ventures Aims for $600 Million Across India, GCC, and UK Funds
A company called Stride Ventures, which lends money to fast-growing startups, is trying to raise a lot of money, $600 million in total.
They are doing this by creating three separate money pools, or funds, in three different places: India, the Middle East (GCC), and the United Kingdom.
They have already collected half of the money they want.
The main idea is to help businesses that are growing not just in one country, but in many countries.
Stride Ventures wants to be the company that helps these businesses with loans, no matter where they decide to expand.
They believe that many startups are growing beyond their home borders, and they want to provide a financial service that can travel with them.
This is a new way of thinking about loans for startups, moving from just helping local businesses to helping international ones.
Stride Ventures is raising $600 million across three independent funds in India, the GCC, and the UK.
The firm has already secured $300 million and plans to complete the fundraising by March.
The strategy aims to establish venture debt as a cross-border financing tool for expanding startups.
The GCC fund is fully backed by sovereign investors, while the UK fund has European LPs.
Stride Ventures has increased its average cheque size from $2-3 million to $4-5 million, allowing them to participate in larger deals.
