FIFA Blocks Laporte's Move from Al-Nassr to Athletic Bilbao
Imagine a soccer player, Aymeric Laporte, trying to switch teams from Al-Nassr to Athletic Bilbao.
His new team, Bilbao, tried to sign him on September 1st.
However, the paperwork to make the transfer official wasn't completed on time, possibly due to some external factors.
Because of this, Bilbao requested help from FIFA, soccer's main rule-making body.
Unfortunately, FIFA said no, they wouldn't make an exception to allow the transfer.
Now, if the transfer can't happen, the agreement with the player and Al-Nassr is void, and Laporte will likely remain with Al-Nassr.
Athletic Bilbao attempted to sign Aymeric Laporte from Al-Nassr on September 1.
The transfer could not be finalized due to external factors, and the paperwork was submitted late.
The Spanish federation requested an exception from FIFA, which was denied.
Athletic Bilbao is exploring legal options but could lose the deal.
If unsuccessful, agreements with Laporte and Al-Nassr will be void.
