Adani Power Proposes Stock Split to Boost Investor Participation
Imagine Adani Power shares are like big pizzas cut into slices.
They want to cut each pizza (share) into five smaller slices.
This means if you own one share, you'll own five shares afterward.
They're doing this so more people can buy into the company, including smaller investors, because smaller slices (shares) might be easier to afford.
Shareholders will vote on this change between early August and early September.
The company's board approved the split.
The amount of money the company has won't change, but the number of shares will become bigger.
The record date will be decided after shareholders vote.
Adani Power will seek shareholder approval for a 1:5 stock split.
The split involves sub-dividing shares with a face value of Rs 10 into five shares of Rs 2 each.
Voting on the stock split will occur between August 6 and September 4, 2025.
The board approved the split to facilitate greater participation from retail investors.
Post-split, the number of equity shares will increase from 2,480 crore to 12,400 crore.
