Telangana Grants Permits for 65,000 Green Autorickshaws
The government in Hyderabad is letting more autorickshaws operate!
They're giving out 65,000 new permits.
But, these aren't just any autorickshaws.
They want to use cleaner options to help the environment.
So, they are allowing autorickshaws that use electricity, CNG, or LPG.
They're also letting people update their old autorickshaws to run on electricity.
If you have an old autorickshaw, you can't use it.
Also, each person can only get one permit to ensure fairness.
This is all to make sure there are enough autorickshaws for everyone and that the air stays cleaner.
Telangana government will grant permits for 65,000 green autorickshaws within the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
Permits include 20,000 electric, 10,000 CNG, 10,000 LPG, and 25,000 retro-fitted electric three-wheelers.
No permits will be issued to petrol or diesel autorickshaws.
The decision aims to address increased demand and control pollution.
Each person can only be issued one permit.
