AP Cabinet Approves First Private Women's University

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved the establishment of Vishnu Women’s University, the first private university exclusively for women in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

This university will be created by transforming the existing Sri Vishnu Engineering College for Women in Bhimavaram.

The approval was given during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The Cabinet also approved filling 3,168 vacancies in various government departments and permitted the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation to execute an addendum to existing agreements for implementing industrial parks.

This move is seen as a step towards empowering women through education, although some critics raise concerns about the privatization of education.
