Tata Motors Sees Strong Growth in Electric Commercial Vehicles

Tata Motors believes more customers will want its electric commercial vehicles.

These include electric small trucks and electric buses.

The company had more than 3,400 electric vehicle orders in the first quarter of FY27.

It also had about 3,200 electric small-truck units and more than 850 electric bus orders.

A shortage of battery cells imported from China has slowed production of the Intra EV.

Tata Motors says it ordered more cells about two months ago.

It expects the supply problem to be fully fixed by the end of the current quarter.

The company says electric vehicles are becoming cheaper to operate than similar fuel-powered vehicles.
