Congress Alleges Bulk Voter Deletion Forms Target Muslim Voters

A Congress leader says many requests were made to remove people from the voter list.

He says 279 such requests were submitted in parts of Belthangady.

He also says 82 requests in Ujire involved Muslim voters.

Some residents said forms with their personal information were used without permission.

They said they planned to complain to the police.

However, no police complaint had been filed when the report was published.

Election officials then told local officers not to accept deletion forms without physical proof.

The allegations have not been established by a police investigation in the report.
