PETA India holds Chennai campaign for animal birth control

PETA India holds Chennai campaign for animal birth control

Some kind people in Chennai, India, dressed up as a giant cat and a giant dog.

They stood by a blackboard to teach people about how to help animals.

They wanted people to know about 'Animal Birth Control,' which is a way to stop pets from having too many babies.

This is important because there are more than 60 million dogs and cats living on the streets in India.

Many of these animals are hungry, hurt, or treated badly.

Millions more animals are waiting in shelters because nobody has adopted them.

The people from PETA India said that fixing pets, by having them sterilised, helps them live healthier and longer lives.

It can also protect them from some diseases, like cancer.

They also asked everyone to adopt animals from shelters instead of buying them.

This special day of teaching happened just before International Homeless Animals' Day on August 15.
