Left parties protest US actions in Venezuela
Some political parties in India, called the Left parties, had protests in the cities of Kolkata, Bardhaman, and Nadia.
They were upset because the United States took the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, from his home.
The protesters said this was not right and that the US should not interfere in Venezuela's affairs.
They also said the US wants to control Venezuela's oil.
The Indian government said it was worried about what happened and is watching the situation closely.
The protesters even tried to break through police barriers, which caused some tension.
Left parties in West Bengal protested US actions in Venezuela, including the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.
Protests were held in Kolkata, Bardhaman, and Nadia districts, with demonstrators burning an effigy of US President Donald Trump.
Protesters alleged that US actions amounted to a direct attack on Venezuela's sovereignty and were aimed at controlling its oil resources.
India voiced deep concern over the US capturing Maduro and is closely monitoring the situation.
Student and youth wings of the CPI (M) also participated in the protests, condemning US military action in Venezuela.
