Karnataka Deputy CM Accepts Shivakumar Despite Chief Ministerial Ambitions

G. Parameshwara said he wanted to become Karnataka’s chief minister.

He said Siddaramaiah suggested his name to the Congress leadership.

The party instead chose D.K. Shivakumar as chief minister.

Parameshwara said he accepts that decision.

He promised to work with Shivakumar.

He said the government must complete its promises and programmes.

Siddaramaiah recently said he helped Parameshwara become the only deputy chief minister.

Those comments have started new discussions inside the Congress party.
