Godavari River Nears First Flood Warning Level, Authorities Alert
The Godavari River in India is getting very full because of a lot of rain.
The water level is almost high enough to be a warning that a flood might happen.
The river’s big dam, called the Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage, is letting a lot of water go out into the sea.
The state government has told people in six districts to be careful and has sent special teams to help if there is a flood.
They also set up phone lines so people can call for help.
The river flows out through three places: Antarvedi, Bodasakurru, and Yanam.
The officials are watching the river closely to keep everyone safe.
Godavari water level expected to hit first warning level (11.75 ft) Saturday morning.
Discharge from Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage rising to 10–11 lakh cusecs, may reach 13 lakh cusecs at second warning level.
APSDMA has alerted six districts and deployed NDRF and SDRF teams.
Flood‑control materials mobilised; evacuation advised for low‑lying villages; toll‑free helplines set up.
River outlets: Antarvedi, Bodasakurru, Yanam; water‑resources officials monitoring along the course.
