JLR Confirms 4,000 Job Cuts Amid Two-Year Transformation

Jaguar Land Rover says it will cut about 4,000 jobs over the next two years.

The company is starting talks with workers and their representatives about the first cuts.

JLR wants to save about £1.7 billion.

It hopes these savings will make it easier to cover its costs by selling about 300,000 vehicles.

The company says its costs have been affected by tariffs, currency changes and higher commodity prices.

A cyberattack also stopped production for five weeks during FY26.

JLR says the changes will make the organisation simpler and more efficient.

It still plans to invest heavily in electric cars, digital technology and manufacturing.
