SAAP to Reopen Sports Academies Across Andhra Pradesh
The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) is getting ready to reopen sports academies.
These academies were shut down a few years ago because of the pandemic and money problems.
Now, SAAP is planning to bring them back to help young athletes.
They will open academies in different cities and will hire 100 coaches to teach kids many different sports.
The academies will have indoor and outdoor areas, places to sleep, and places to eat.
The goal is to provide good training to about 150 athletes.
Also, SAAP is stopping the "Pay and Play" system so that all kids, even those who don't have much money, can get training.
SAAP is taking steps to reopen sports academies across Andhra Pradesh.
Academies were closed in 2019 due to COVID-19 and funding issues.
The Academies Committee visited DSA grounds to assess infrastructure.
Academies will reopen in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Nellore, and Tirupati.
SAAP will recruit 100 coaches and provide training in 14-16 disciplines.
