Bangladeshi Youth Granted Indian Citizenship via CAA
A man named Sabuj Das, who came to India from Bangladesh 26 years ago, was given Indian citizenship.
He and his parents came to India without proper documents, but he has lived here for a long time.
He had an Indian voter ID and Aadhar card, but he needed to prove he was Indian.
He applied for citizenship last year and was told he could get his citizenship certificate.
He is happy because now he can stay in India without any problems.
Sabuj Das, a 37-year-old from Bangladesh, was granted Indian citizenship under the CAA, 2019.
He has lived in East Burdwan, India, for the past 26 years with his parents, who entered India illegally.
Das had an EPIC and Aadhar Card but faced difficulties proving his Indian roots.
He applied for citizenship last October and received a call from the Ministry of Home Affairs to collect his nationality certificate.
The hard copy of his nationality certificate will be sent to his address by post.
