Reliance Power Q2 Profit Plunges, Subsidiary Wins SJVN Tender, Eyes FCCB Issue
Imagine Reliance Power is like a company that sells electricity.
In the last three months, the money they made after paying all their bills (their profit) was much, much lower than the same time last year – almost all gone!
However, the money they earned from selling electricity actually went up a bit.
They also made some important decisions: they plan to borrow a lot of money from overseas by selling special bonds, and one of their smaller companies won a big contract to build a solar power farm with batteries.
This new project is the biggest of its kind for them.
Even with these new projects, the company's stock price went down a little.
Reliance Power's Q2 FY26 net profit dropped 97% year-on-year to Rs 87.3 crore.
Revenue from operations increased by 12.2% to Rs 1,974 crore in Q2 FY26.
The board approved seeking authorization for a Foreign Currency Convertible Bond (FCCB) issue of up to $600 million.
Reliance Nu Energies, a subsidiary, secured a 750 MW/3,000 MWh solar-plus-battery storage project from SJVN.
RPower shares were trading 2.19% lower following these announcements.
