How Abhishek Nayar Helped Shreyas Iyer End T20I Century Drought

Shreyas Iyer had been trying to improve how he hit the ball.

During the Asian Games, he felt he was not hitting with enough force or clearing the boundary as he wanted.

He talked cricket with Abhishek Nayar, a former India batting coach, in a session that lasted nearly two hours.

They worked on his grip, how he got ready to hit, and ways to handle different bowlers.

Nayar also showed him how to practise the changes.

Iyer said getting set before the ball was bowled helped him find rhythm.

In the first T20I against the West Indies, Iyer scored 102 without being out.

India won the match by eight wickets, and it was Iyer’s first T20I century.
