Shark Tank India Deals: Awsum and Awayddings
Aman Gupta says Shark Tank India pitcher’s cake brand is ‘bakwaas’ after he inks deal with ‘dal badlu’ Namita Thapar · indianexpress.com

In the latest episodes of Shark Tank India Season 5, two different businesses presented their pitches to the judges.

Pranav Sharma, the founder of Awsum, a healthy cake brand, asked for Rs 1 crore in exchange for 1% equity, valuing his company at Rs 100 crores.

Aman Gupta criticized the packaging and taste of the cakes, but other judges like Namita Thapar and Ritesh Agarwal made investment offers.

Awsum cakes are made without maida, palm oil, or sugar, and include ingredients like jaggery, honey, brahmi, ginseng, and ashwagandha for immunity.

The brand has seen significant revenue growth, with Rs 4.9 crores in revenue and Rs 3 lakhs in profit after tax in 2024-25.

Meanwhile, Ashish Arun and Vijay Kumar, founders of Awayddings, a destination wedding planning business, sought Rs 2 crore for 5% equity, valuing their business at Rs 40 crores.

They offer end-to-end wedding planning services, catering to various budgets.

Several Sharks backed out due to high operational costs and scalability issues, but Aman Gupta offered Rs 1 crore for 10% equity and Rs 1 crore debt at 10% interest for 2 years, with the condition that his name wouldn't be mentioned.
