Bangladeshi Couple Detained in UP for Illegal Stay
A woman from Bangladesh and her husband were caught in India for living there without permission.
They got married in Saudi Arabia and came to India through Nepal.
The police found out because someone told them.
The woman first said she was from a different place, but they found out she was from Bangladesh.
The police are checking more about this because India has a special plan to stop people from staying illegally.
A Bangladeshi woman, Reena Begum, and her husband, Rashid Ali, were detained in Mandi Dhanaura, Amroha, Uttar Pradesh for illegal stay.
They were caught after a tip-off, and a marriage certificate showed they married in Saudi Arabia and entered India via Nepal in October 2025.
Reena initially claimed to be from West Bengal but was later identified as being from Ghazipur in Dhaka district, Bangladesh.
An FIR was filed against Reena under the Foreigners Act, and Rashid was booked for harbouring an illegal immigrant.
The arrests are part of Operation Torch, a state government initiative to combat illegal immigration.
