Himachal CM Urges Centre to Reopen Trade via Shipki La, Discusses Kailash Mansarovar Yatra
The leader of Himachal Pradesh, a state in India, wants the national government to allow trade again through a mountain pass called Shipki La, which is near China.
He also thinks it would be a good idea to start a special journey to Kailash Mansarovar, a holy place, through this pass because there's already a road there.
He was speaking at a traditional fair called the Lavi Fair, which has been happening for a very long time and is important for trade and culture.
He also talked about improving schools by using a new curriculum and helping people who lost their homes in recent floods and disasters by giving them money and increasing the amount of compensation for damaged houses.
Himachal Pradesh government has requested the Union Government to reopen trade through the Shipki La pass.
Discussions are ongoing to initiate the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Shipki La.
The Chief Minister presided over the closing ceremony of the four-day International Lavi Fair in Rampur.
The state government has provided Rs 81 crore to approximately 4,000 disaster-affected families for home reconstruction.
