Hyderabad Water Board Intensifies Drainage Work to Curb Floods
The Hyderabad Water Board is working hard to stop flooding in the city.
The boss, Ashok Reddy, told workers to clean out the drains faster and keep an eye on places that get flooded.
In a neighborhood called Krishnanagar, a new drainage line has already helped water flow away quickly.
In Punjagutta, workers are using pumps to move water out of the streets.
The board also finished a big new pipe that runs from a hospital to a big building to stop sewage from overflowing.
They are working with the city council, the water board, the police, and other groups to keep people safe and avoid trouble during heavy rains.
Managing Director Ashok Reddy ordered intensified desilting and monitoring of rainwater drains across Hyderabad.
A special drainage line in Krishnanagar has already reduced rainwater accumulation for residents.
Officials were instructed to remove silt immediately and deploy de‑watering pumps on a war footing in Punjagutta.
A 450‑mm drainage main pipeline from Agarwal Eye Hospital to Sitara Grand was completed to stop sewage overflows.
Coordination with GHMC, HYDRAA, Police and other departments is mandated to minimize public inconvenience.
