Warangal crackdown on quack clinics loses steam after reopening

Warangal crackdown on quack clinics loses steam after reopening

Some people in the city of Warangal were working in clinics without being real, properly trained doctors.

These people are sometimes called quacks because they give medical care they are not qualified to give.

Government officials from the Telangana Medical Council, along with police, visited many clinics on August 6.

They found problems like clinics without licenses, patients getting drips and steroid injections, and unsafe handling of medical waste.

They reported about 16 people to the police for practicing medicine without proper qualifications.

But people who live in Warangal say some of these clinics opened again just one day after the checks.

Residents are asking why the clinics were not closed down and why equipment was not taken away.

They want officials to keep watching and to work better together with other departments.

Everyone wants sick people to get safe and proper care from qualified doctors.
